What is an Air B Contractor License?

The Florida Class B Air Conditioning Contractor License allows individuals to install, maintain, repair, fabricate, alter, extend, and design air-conditioning systems that are:

  •  Limited to 25 tons of cooling capacity and 500,000 BTUs of heating capacity.
  •  Connected to low-pressure systems.

State Of Florida Requirements To Obtain The License

To become a licensed Class B Air Conditioning Contractor in Florida, you must:

  1. Be at least 18 years old.
  2. Have at least 4 years of experience in the trade (one year must be supervisory).
    OR a combination of college education and experience totaling 4 years.
  3. Pass the Florida State Licensing Exam.
    Business & Finance Exam.
    Trade Knowledge Exam (Air B).
  4. Submit an application to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR).
  5. Provide proof of financial stability, credit score, and insurance.
  6. Pay all applicable licensing and application fees.
